The Town Council is located at plaza de Cort, the city centre of Palma. The building's façade dates back to the XVIIth century while the inside belongs to the XIXth century. Originally, the building used to home the headquarters of the Jury, executive board of the old Kingdom of Mallorca. Due to the changes in administration that took place in the XVIIIth century, the Town Council of Palma inherited the building and the furniture of the old Kingdom's University. The Town Council's art gallery, especially the gallery portraying illustrious men of the Kingdom of Mallorca, is worth highlighting at this point.
